Not Your Grandfather's Log Home

Heritage Log Homes combine the best of old-fashioned craftsmanship and state-of-the-art building technology. These advanced homes have set the standard for log wall construction.

Our latest improvement involves the way individual logs are linked together to form the log wall. In the past, logs were spiked or lag bolted together to erect the walls. Heritage has developed and implemented a new technique; a spring loaded, self-tightening, maintenance free thru bolt system with our new patented anchoring system. This method forms a very strong log wall, and keeps the log wall very tight as it settles over time.

This is just one of many improvements which makes Heritage Log Homes superior by far.

When it comes to design you can choose from over 60 floor plans, any of which can be modified to fit your dreams.

"Going Green" Just Isn't Our Buzzword

Heritage Log Homes were doing the eco-friendly thing long before the concept ever found its way into water-cooler conversation. It’s a philosophy that’s been ingrained in their operations for more than 30 years, from timber selection to the way log homes are designed.

Heritage is also a designated ENERGY STAR partner, which means they are committed to promoting energy-efficient products and practices that not only save homeowners money but help protect the environment. Consider this:

• Multiple energy-conservation factors are taken into consideration when helping you fine-tune your home’s layout and features. Doing this before construction is the best way to make sure your home runs as efficiently and as inexpensively as possible.

• Timber is not only the ultimate renewable resource, it’s one of the most energy-efficient building materials you can use. Because of each log’s natural density, it takes longer for temperatures outside a log home to affect the temperature inside, resulting in less use of heating and cooling units and lower energy bills.

• Our wood-seasoning process is all-natural and doesn’t require any expenditure of chemical or mechanical energy.

• Log design and assembly methods are energy-wise. Logs are seated on top of each other with 2 sealed tongue-and-groove fittings and coupled at corners with interlocking saddle-notch joints. Then our patented Thru-Bolt fastening system automatically keeps wall segments fitting tightly throughout the life of your home, eliminating air infiltration and conserving energy.
