Timber Framing is enjoying a thriving renaissance of the ancient skills it takes to build one of these magnificent structures. Timber Framed Homes differ from conventional wood framed buildings in several ways. Timber Framing uses fewer, larger wooden timbers wiith dimensions in the range of 6" to 12" in thickness. The methods of fastening the frame timbers also differ. In conventional framing the members are joined using nails while timber framing are usually fastened using only wooden pegs.
Heritage Log Homes and Timberline Custom Homes are proud to be part of this hand-crafted revival. We have several Heritage plans to choose from.
At Tiimberline Custom Homes we also pride ourselves in the fact that we have great working relationships with many great Timber Frame Companies in the area including Goshen Timber Frames of Franklin, North Carolina.
In keeping with the old world traditions, Goshen crafts each of their homes by hand with each piece handfitted to perfection. A variety of woods can be used although the most common is white pine. The frame of massive timbers is breathtaking and provides for open living plans and additional value to your new home.
Through Timberline Construction we can arrange for the handcrafting of your new timber frame home, raising of the timbers, adding of structural insulated panels for energy efficiency and complete all of the finishing details of the interior.
When considering plans for your new dream home, a timber frame would be an excellent choice. These homes provide for green building at its finest and will provide you with an exceptional home. After all, timber frame structures built around 1600 a.d. in Europe are still standing and in use today!
